Specifically, the Department of Overseas Labor Management has sent a document requesting businesses to verify information about Vietnamese workers in the fire in Taiwan, report the number of workers working at the above factory; the number of injured and dead workers (if any); and the health status of workers after the fire and explosion.

At the same time, coordinate with partners, employers, and hospitals to search for and verify workers sent by the enterprise; assign representative staff to coordinate with the hospital to promptly treat and ensure the health of injured workers (if any); and stabilize the psychology of workers working here.

The Department also requested the enterprise to coordinate with the Vietnamese Labor Management Board in Taiwan, partners, employers and relevant agencies on the other side to investigate and clarify the cause of the fire and explosion to protect the legitimate rights of Vietnamese workers.

"The Department has urgently directed the Vietnamese Labor Management Board in Taiwan and businesses sending workers to work in Taiwan to go directly to the scene to check and update information on the victims of the fire.

The review and verification of the number of Vietnamese workers affected by the fire is still ongoing, there is no specific information yet," the leader of the Department of Overseas Labor Management informed.

Earlier, on September 22, a fire and explosion occurred at a golf equipment factory in Pingtung Science and Technology Park, Taiwan (China), causing part of the factory to collapse. At least 4 firefighters and nearly 100 people were injured.
