Healthy, peaceful, gentle, and youthful – these are the benefits that yoga practitioners achieve after a period of practice. With these values, yoga has become a widespread trend among modern women. It is considered a discipline that offers many health benefits and is a suitable choice for many age groups.

Yoga - the sport trend for modern women. Students at Xanh Club Fitness & Yoga Center, Dong Huong Ward ( Thanh Hoa City) practice Yoga.

This is the fifth year that Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung, an office worker in Thanh Hoa City who frequently uses a computer, has been practicing yoga. Therefore, dedicating time to daily relaxation through yoga has become an indispensable part of her life. Nhung shared: "Due to the nature of office work, my colleagues and I spend a lot of time sitting at computers, with little physical activity, which makes our bodies feel heavy and sluggish, especially our waistlines... So, after work, I dedicate an hour to practicing yoga. Since I started practicing, I've noticed a significant improvement in my health."

As for Ms. Cao Thi Chung (62 years old) from Phu Son ward (Thanh Hoa city), she said: “I have been practicing Yoga for more than 8 years, dedicating an hour each afternoon to practice. Thanks to practicing Yoga, I always maintain good health and spirits, and my appearance is much younger and more relaxed than my age.”

Originating in India and evolving over the years, Yoga has become popular in many countries around the world , gaining widespread acceptance and appreciation. Practicing Yoga correctly helps us achieve a beautiful physique, physical endurance, and mental relaxation and comfort. In our province, the Yoga practice movement has been developing strongly, attracting a large number of women who love this discipline. Many modern centers, studios, and clubs have been established to meet the needs of the people, such as ZIVA - Yoga & Dance Center, Dong Son New Urban Area (An Hung Ward); Phoenix Fitness & Yoga, 25 Le Loi Avenue; SS Club Fitness & Yoga Center; Namaste Yoga & Fitness, Dinh Cong Trang; AK Zumba Fitness, Le Huu Lap (Lam Son Ward); Leonyx Fitness studio, New Urban Area (Dong Ve Ward); Xanh Club Fitness & Yoga Center (Dong Huong Ward); Panda Fitness Center (Dien Bien Ward, Thanh Hoa City). Sunshine Fitness & Yoga, Bac Son Ward (Sam Son City)... To meet the increasing demand of students, the centers offer classes at 5 to 7 different times daily, divided into various classes such as: basic classes for beginners, advanced classes, therapeutic classes... suitable for the needs and levels of the students. At the same time, they regularly invest in modern facilities and equipment, and employ dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Indian and Vietnamese trainers who continuously improve their professional skills and expertise.

Yoga is increasingly attracting women of all ages due to its practical benefits for health, fitness, and mental well-being . Through exercises, posture holding, breathing techniques, and mental focus, Yoga promotes a healthy body and a refreshed mind. During practice, the circulatory system functions better, blood flows smoothly, providing the skin with sufficient nutrients and oxygen, resulting in a rosy, youthful complexion. It strengthens the immune system, improves bone health, and reduces illness. Mentally, the coordination between mind (thought) and body (action) improves awareness and overall health. In short, practicing Yoga is one of the optimal methods for improving both physical and mental health, and it's accessible and convenient for everyone's life.

With the strong development and immense value of Yoga, on December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as International Yoga Day. Along with other provinces and cities nationwide, the Yoga movement has also developed quite strongly in our province in recent years, attracting an increasing number of people to participate in practice, with hundreds of Yoga clubs and teams being established and maintaining regular, vibrant activities. In particular, in June 2024, International Yoga Day and the first Thanh Hoa Province Yoga Club Championship will be held in Thanh Hoa. This is vivid evidence of the development of the Yoga practice movement in Thanh Hoa and also an opportunity for the people of Thanh Hoa province to better understand and appreciate India and the practice of Yoga. The strong development and spread of the Yoga practice movement provides an opportunity to continuously promote the development of good and effective cooperative relationships between Thanh Hoa province and partners and localities in India.

The growth of the yoga practice movement shows that people are increasingly concerned about their health and quality of life. Therefore, the activities of yoga centers and clubs in the area need to be supported and encouraged by relevant authorities to develop into a healthy and attractive mass physical activity and sports movement.
