140 organizations registered to attend the 2nd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition

On November 15, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Information and Communications jointly held a press conference to introduce activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

Co-chairing the press conference were representatives of the Propaganda Department (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army), the Press Department ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) and the Press and Publishing Department (Central Propaganda Department).

Regarding the 2nd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition (2024), Major General Le Ngoc Than, Head of the General Department of Defense Industry, said that up to now, 140 organizations and focal units from 27 countries have registered to attend the exhibition and signed contracts with the Organizing Committee.

Specifically, the 2nd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition (2024) organized by the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam is scheduled to take place from December 19 to 22, 2024 at Gia Lam Airport, Hanoi. This is one of the activities in the series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army. Many types of modern weapons and military equipment, including recently produced products, will be on display.

Many countries with strengths in developing the defense industry in the world such as: USA, UK, France, Spain, Israel, India... have registered to participate and display products at this exhibition. The exhibition opening time starts from 9am on December 19.

During the 4 days of the exhibition, in addition to the general activities of Party and State leaders and international delegations, the Organizing Committee will open the exhibition to the public from 1:30 p.m. on December 21 until December 22, completely free of charge.

According to Major General Le Ngoc Than, under the direction of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, the scale of the second exhibition will be much larger, with more activities and more international delegations. In particular, the number of weapons and equipment from other countries and Vietnam participating in the exhibition will be greater, and many new products manufactured from 2022 to present will also be on display.  

Major General Le Ngoc Than emphasized the goal of seeking cooperation opportunities between partners through the exhibition; Vietnam has a self-reliant, autonomous, and self-reliant defense industry, but still needs to cooperate with countries with defense industries to learn.

According to information from the Organizing Committee, this year's exhibition has a total display area of ​​over 100,000 m², including 18 areas. Of which, the display area is nearly 35,000 m² (including indoor and outdoor). It is expected that dozens of types of weapons and equipment in the Vietnam People's Army will be displayed at the exhibition.

In particular, at the opening ceremony, there will be a welcome flight performance by the Vietnam Air Force; about 2,200 officers and soldiers of special forces will perform martial arts; the Border Guard will use 80 military dogs and 80 trainers to perform./.
