Agribank Phu Tho Province Branch focuses on solutions to increase credit growth

Therefore, to promote credit growth in this sector, Agribank Phu Tho Provincial Branch has continuously developed, expanded its scale, and improved the quality of its credit services, prioritizing capital for agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, effectively serving the goal of local economic development.

Agribank Phu Tho Provincial Branch is stepping up lending to production households and individuals in the agricultural and rural sectors.

Agribank Phu Tho Provincial Branch operates in 7 districts and Viet Tri City, with its provincial headquarters, 9 type II branches, and 17 transaction offices in communes. To effectively implement credit policies serving the development of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, in accordance with the directives of the Government and the superior bank, Agribank Phu Tho Provincial Branch has implemented a comprehensive set of solutions to ensure safe and effective credit growth.

Based on the local situation and understanding the demand for credit capital, the Branch requires its subordinate banking units to strive for loan growth from the beginning of the year and consistent growth throughout the quarters. Accordingly, the units should develop specific credit investment plans for each area, directing credit towards priority, key, and strategic sectors. This includes focusing on expanding credit and providing banking services to production households and individuals in rural and remote areas; seriously, openly, and transparently implementing credit mechanisms and policies; and promoting improvements in lending processes and procedures to shorten application processing times and flexibly apply loan collateral measures as prescribed.

Along with directing subordinate units to diversify credit products and banking services to suit each customer segment, the Branch requires units to coordinate with localities to strengthen the dissemination and guidance to customers on skills in managing and using loan capital, transferring scientific and technical knowledge, and organizing production, in conjunction with promoting and guiding the use of banking products and services. Simultaneously, it establishes Steering Committees and loan groups in communes and residential areas, responsible for guiding lending to households, disbursing funds, collecting debts, and sharing experiences in agricultural production. Through the system of Steering Committees and loan groups, people can access loans conveniently, especially access preferential policy credit programs and national target programs on building new rural areas quickly and promptly.

Not only does Agribank fully meet the production and business needs in rural areas, but it also promptly meets the borrowing needs for consumption and daily life of many individuals and households. This includes promoting lending to customers with legitimate and urgent consumption purposes, with reasonable interest rates as regulated.

Along with proactively meeting capital needs and ensuring credit growth, the Branch is promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation, following the "customer-centric" orientation; focusing on developing modern distribution channels to serve customers' payment transaction needs, gradually adapting to the digital economy as directed by the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam. In addition to focusing on improving professional skills, the Branch always pays attention to educating its staff on professional ethics and conduct; implementing regulations on communication according to the Agribank culture handbook.

Agribank's Phu Tho Provincial Branch has currently installed 22 ATM/CDM machines in its operating areas.

Ms. Le Thi Hong Nhung, Director of Agribank Phu Tho Provincial Branch, shared: To increase credit growth in the "three rural sectors" (agriculture, rural areas, and farmers), the Branch focuses on improving customer care for traditional customers, expanding marketing to new customers; and effectively implementing the savings deposit mobilization program to promptly meet the capital needs of the people. To date, the total mobilized capital of the entire Branch is estimated at VND 14,280 billion, reaching 101.5% of the assigned plan; total outstanding loans reached VND 15,330 billion, reaching 100.7% of the assigned plan; and the bad debt ratio is below the permissible level. Specifically, outstanding loans to the agricultural and rural sector reached VND 12,200 billion, accounting for 80% of the total outstanding loans. Currently, the entire branch has 321,890 deposit customers, 55,140 loan customers, 554,400 customers using electronic banking services, 22,120 customers authorized to collect electricity, water, and telephone bills; and has issued 290,700 ATM cards...
