On the afternoon of December 1, storm No. 15 (Koto) weakened into a tropical depression. It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will likely weaken into a low pressure area over the Gia Lai - Dak Lak sea area (formerly Binh Dinh - Phu Yen).

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on the afternoon of December 1, storm No. 15 weakened into a tropical depression.

At 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, the center of the tropical depression was in the northwest sea area of ​​the central East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 7 (50-61 km/h), gusting to level 9.

It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the tropical depression will move southwest at a speed of about 5km/h and continue to weaken.

At 1:00 a.m. on December 2, the center of the tropical depression was about 200km east of the eastern coast of Gia Lai- Dak Lak province, with the intensity of the tropical depression at level 6, gusting to level 8.

In the next 12 to 24 hours, the tropical depression will move southwest and gradually weaken into a low pressure area over the sea of ​​Gia Lai - Dak Lak provinces.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, in the northwest sea area between the East Sea and the sea off the coast of Gia Lai - Dak Lak provinces, there are strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 9, waves 2-4m high, and rough seas.

Vessels operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are susceptible to the impact of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.

On December 1, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued a climate forecast bulletin for the whole country in December.

It is forecasted that in December, there will likely be 1-2 storms or tropical depressions in the East Sea.

In provinces and cities from Quang Tri to Da Nang , the east of Quang Ngai province to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa, there is a possibility of widespread heavy rains, concentrated in the first half of December.

In December, cold air (northeast monsoon) continues to increase in frequency and intensity and may cause severe cold in the mountainous areas of the North of our country.

Nationwide, there is still a possibility of dangerous weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Central region moderate to heavy rain

The meteorological agency forecasts that from the night of December 2 to the end of December 4, the area of ​​Hue, Da Nang, and the east of Quang Ngai province will have temperatures of 100-170mm, and locally over 250mm.

In Quang Tri area, the east of the provinces from Gia Lai to Dak Lak (Binh Dinh to old Phu Yen) and Khanh Hoa, it is common to have 40-100mm, locally over 150mm.
