Arrest of 3 suspects buying heroin from Laos to Vietnam

On May 25, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that Quan Son District Police (Thanh Hoa) had just coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police to arrest 3 suspects buying, selling, and transporting heroin and opium resin from Laos to Vietnam.

3 suspects arrested and evidence of the case

The arrested suspects include: Nguyen Thanh Chung (39 years old), Trieu Van Ngoc (36 years old, both residing in Ea Wy commune, Ea H'Leo district, Dak Lak ), and Sung Thi Sai (43 years old, residing in Na Meo commune, Quan Son district, Thanh Hoa).

According to the investigation results of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, Trieu Van Ngoc gave Nguyen Thanh Chung 200 million VND to buy drugs. After receiving the money, Chung contacted Sung Thi Sai by phone to find a source of goods from Laos.

Sai then connected and bought 1 heroin cake, 1.7 kg of opium resin from Laos to bring to Vietnam to deliver to Nguyen Thanh Chung. When Nguyen Thanh Chung received the heroin and opium resin, and was transporting them from Na Meo commune to Dak Lak, he was caught red-handed by the police.

The case is being investigated and clarified by Quan Son District Police in coordination with the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police.
