On March 14th, the Phuoc Ninh Ward Police (Hai Chau District, Da Nang City) handed over four individuals who vandalized public spaces to the Hai Chau District Police for further investigation. This group also tested positive for marijuana.

In the early hours of the same day, the Phuoc Ninh Ward night patrol team, led by the Phuoc Ninh Ward Police, while on duty on Le Dinh Duong Street, discovered a group of four young men spray-painting in front of house number 30 on Le Dinh Duong Street.

Police in Phuoc Ninh Ward are working with the suspects.

The patrol team confiscated five cans of spray paint and took all four individuals to the police station for questioning. The group admitted to vandalizing public spaces by spray-painting pictures in the style of graffiti (painting on walls - a form of street art from abroad).

During the operation, police discovered that several young men in the group showed signs of drug intoxication. Tests revealed that 3 out of 4 individuals tested positive for drugs: TNT (23 years old, residing in District 11, Ho Chi Minh City), NCL (23 years old, residing in Cam Le District), and DTN (22 years old, residing in Hai Chau District, both in Da Nang City). These individuals admitted to using marijuana.

The spray paint cans were confiscated.

As Thanh Nien newspaper has reported, recently, the center of Da Nang city has seen a surge in graffiti in public areas. In Hai Chau District alone, six out of thirteen wards have areas or locations affected by vandalism. Notably, not only abandoned or unfinished construction sites but also many scenic spots, art sculptures, and architectural structures have been defaced with graffiti, causing offense and detracting from the city's aesthetics.

Local youth union members and volunteers have launched campaigns to clean up and restore the area's aesthetics.

The People's Committee of Hai Chau District has directed the district and local police forces to increase patrols and conduct covert operations to strictly deal with the situation of graffiti.
