Thanh Hoa Border Guard arrests two individuals for illegally trading explosives.

As part of Project TH 523 on combating the illegal buying, selling, transporting, storing, and using of explosives during the peak period of preventing and combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing in coastal areas, on June 7th, in Nam Son village, Nghi Son commune, Nghi Son town, the Anti-Drug and Crime Prevention Force of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with the Nghi Son Port Border Guard Command, apprehended two individuals: Tran Thi Ngoc, born in 1981, residing in Trung Son village, and Nghiem Thi Hung, born in 1985, residing in Nam Son village, both in Nghi Son commune, Nghi Son town, while they were illegally buying and selling explosives. The seized items included: 10 kg of industrial explosives, 500 detonators; 2 mobile phones and 1 motorbike.

The suspects confessed that they bought the explosives to transport and sell to fishing vessels in the area for profit.

Currently, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command is directing its task force to coordinate with the Nghi Son Port Border Guard Command to conduct investigations, request expert examination of evidence, and based on the results of the examination, initiate criminal proceedings and transfer the case to the relevant authorities for investigation and handling according to their jurisdiction.
