Many people are spreading information that a popular hair salon chain called "1900 Hair Salon" has been asking people to donate hair to cancer patients, but is this true?

Bac Ninh Provincial General Hospital speaks out.

Today, June 13th, the Bac Ninh Provincial General Hospital has just released a report regarding the incident.

The hospital provides information on receiving and distributing donated hair to cancer patients.

The hospital announced that it had collaborated with the "Bright Tomorrow Fund" to organize the "Hair for Cancer Patients" program on June 11th.

The number of donated wigs is 50 (made from real human hair), based on direct registration information from cancer patients at the Oncology Center. The "Bright Tomorrow" Fund does not limit the number of wigs donated to cancer patients.

In parallel, the program also received 703 sets of hair donated by volunteers. These sets of hair are currently being managed by the Social Work Department, awaiting handover to the "Bright Tomorrow" Fund.

The program also received support and participation from many philanthropists both within and outside the province.

In particular, 16 hair salons in Bac Ninh province sent staff to cut the hair of volunteer donors at the hospital, and also offered free hair styling services to the volunteers at their salons.

"The program is a meaningful social activity with profound humanitarian significance, boosting the morale and strength of cancer patients, helping them to have a more positive outlook on life, and contributing to spreading the spirit of love, sharing, and a healthy lifestyle to the community," stated the report signed by Mr. Nguyen Van Duong, Deputy General Director of Bac Ninh Provincial General Hospital.

Following rumors of selling donated hair, many posts on the official Facebook page of the 1900 Hair Salon chain received thousands of angry reactions.

This afternoon, after the hospital issued a statement, the salon chain shared a brief message on social media: "With dedication and love from everyone, we will always strive to spread positivity to society. Thank you so much for your love and generosity. We are grateful."

1900 Hair Salon has 6 branches (5 in Hanoi and 1 in Ho Chi Minh City).

Besides the stylish hairstyles, this chain is famous for the videos and images shared on social media, chronicling its journey of collecting hair from many people (including customers) and then giving it to cancer patients, especially women and girls.
