Can Tho Secretary: We are not allowed to stop, be satisfied, or content!

(Dan Tri) - At the Congress, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee emphasized that the city needs to promote the strength of the great solidarity bloc to successfully implement the goals to build Can Tho into an increasingly civilized and modern city.

On the morning of September 27, the 1st Congress of Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025-2030 officially opened.

Attending the Congress were National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Mr. Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organizing Committee; Mr. Pham Gia Tuc, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Mr. Le Quang Manh, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee and 484 official delegates who are outstanding and exemplary party members, representing more than 143,000 party members in the entire Party Committee.

In his opening speech, Mr. Do Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, affirmed that this is a particularly important political event, a historical milestone of great significance for the Party Committee, government and people of Can Tho City.

According to Secretary Do Thanh Binh, during the preparation for the Congress, the Can Tho City Party Committee has received close, regular and timely leadership and direction from the Politburo, the Secretariat, the departments, ministries, branches and the Central Party Office. The preparation for the Congress was carried out in accordance with the principles and regulations of the Party Charter and instructions from superiors.

According to the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, the 1st Congress of Can Tho City Party Committee has a special historical significance, being the Congress of " Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development ", with the heroic revolutionary tradition, the strength of great solidarity and the aspiration to rise up.

He suggested that delegates, based on the results of the Congress at the grassroots level, with their rich practical experience, actively participate in contributing, evaluating and highlighting the achievements and results that have been achieved; at the same time, they need to look straight at the truth, promote the spirit of self-criticism and criticism, discuss democratically, openly, seriously and frankly...

The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee also proposed a serious, profound, comprehensive, objective, and honest review of the leadership and direction of the Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

At the same time, delegates participated in in-depth discussions on topics to clarify further the results and orientations for future development, thereby building an action program to implement the Congress Resolution that is close, correct, and appropriate, turning the vision into reality.

According to the head of the Can Tho City Party Committee, the goals and tasks set by the Congress are very heavy but also extremely honorable and glorious, and are the responsibility of the Party Committee, government and people of the city, first of all for the official delegates attending the Congress.

"Continuing and promoting the heroic historical and cultural traditions of our homeland and the rich revolutionary tradition, our responsibility to the people and the future of Can Tho City does not allow us to stop, be satisfied, or be content with the achievements we have made.

We all deeply realize that we need to continue to make more efforts and strive, join hands, be united, be exemplary and responsible pioneers, promote the strength of the great solidarity bloc to successfully implement the goals, tasks and solutions set out by the Congress...", Mr. Do Thanh Binh emphasized.
