Can Tho Secretary: We are not allowed to stop, be satisfied, or content!

(Dan Tri) - At the Congress, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee emphasized that the city needs to promote the strength of the great solidarity bloc to successfully implement the goals to build Can Tho into an increasingly civilized and modern city.

On the morning of September 27, the 1st Congress of Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025-2030 officially opened.

Attending the Congress were National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Mr. Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organization Committee; Mr. Pham Gia Tuc, Chief of the Central Party Office; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Mr. Le Quang Manh, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee; and 484 official delegates who are outstanding and exemplary party members, representing more than 143,000 party members throughout the Party organization.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Do Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, affirmed that this is a particularly important political event, a historical milestone of great significance for the Party Committee, government, and people of Can Tho City.

According to Secretary Do Thanh Binh, during the preparation for the Congress, the Executive Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee received close, regular, and timely leadership and guidance from the Politburo, the Secretariat, various ministries and departments, and the Central Party Office. The preparations for the Congress were conducted in accordance with the principles and regulations of the Party Charter and the guidance of higher authorities.

According to the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, the First Congress of the Can Tho City Party Committee has a particularly important historical significance, being a Congress of " Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development ," with a heroic revolutionary tradition, the strength of great unity, and the aspiration to rise.

He suggested that delegates, drawing on the results of the grassroots-level Congress and their rich practical experience, should actively participate in contributing and evaluating, highlighting the achievements and results obtained; at the same time, they should look directly at the truth, uphold the spirit of self-criticism and criticism, and engage in democratic, open, serious, and frank discussions...

The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee also requested a serious, thorough, comprehensive, objective, and honest review of the leadership and direction of the Party Committee's Executive Board for the 2020-2025 term.

Simultaneously, delegates engaged in in-depth discussions on various topics to further clarify the results and future development directions, thereby building an action plan to implement the Congress Resolution accurately, appropriately, and transform the vision into reality.

According to the head of the Can Tho City Party Committee, the goals and tasks set by the Congress are very challenging but also extremely honorable and glorious, representing the responsibility of the Party Committee, the government, and the people of the city, and first and foremost, of the official delegates attending the Congress.

"Continuing and developing the glorious historical and cultural traditions of our homeland and the rich revolutionary tradition, our responsibility to the people and the future of Can Tho City does not allow us to stop, be complacent, or satisfied with the achievements we have made."

"We all deeply understand that we need to continue to make even greater efforts and strive harder, working together, being exemplary pioneers, being responsible, and leveraging the strength of national unity to successfully implement the goals, tasks, and solutions set forth by the Congress...", Mr. Do Thanh Binh emphasized.
