BIDV accompanies Vietnam Card Day to create the future of digital payments

The series of events for Vietnam Card Day 2025, directed by the State Bank of Vietnam, co-organized by Tien Phong Newspaper and the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS), will take place from September 26 to October 26, 2025. With the theme "One touch, ten thousand trusts - Creating the future of digital payments", the event continues to affirm the spirit of innovation, creativity and breakthrough in the digital age of the banking industry in general and BIDV in particular.

The event aims to make cashless payments popular and accessible to a large number of customers, while spreading smart, safe and modern spending habits in society. This is also a practical activity contributing to the realization of Resolution 57 of the Government on promoting digital payments, laying the foundation for new advances in finance and technology in the future.

As part of the event series, the October 7th workshop is a place to gather strategic perspectives on the future of digital payments in Vietnam. The workshop includes two discussion sessions, focusing on modern payment technology trends, transaction security and building digital trust in a cashless society. Leading experts in the fields of finance - banking - technology shared experiences, analyzed challenges and proposed practical solutions to promote comprehensive digital transformation.

At the workshop, Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Nhan - Director of BIDV Card and Operation Center - represented the bank to share about the importance of digital payment - one of the breakthrough innovation fields, playing a "lifeline" role in promoting the digital economy , e-commerce and comprehensive finance.

Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Nhan said: “From a simple payment tool, bank cards have now become a means of identification and connection in the digital ecosystem - where cash flow, data and utilities circulate together. This ecosystem includes five groups of subjects: Government and management agencies - creating legal frameworks and data infrastructure; banks and financial institutions - the backbone of the payment system; card organizations and payment intermediaries - accompanying technological innovation; businesses and sellers - bridges with consumers; and finally consumers - the center of all innovation. ”

With the motto of "taking customers as the center", BIDV and other banks have constantly innovated, expanded services and improved experiences. However, along with convenience comes the increase of high-tech crimes. In the AI era, forms of attack such as skimming, shimming or NFC relay continuously appear, requiring banks to proactively defend. BIDV has chosen a "prevention over reaction" approach, assessing risks right from the product design stage, focusing on developing non-physical cards, encrypting card information on Apple Pay and Google Pay wallets, implementing 3D Secure multi-factor authentication, complying with PCI DSS standards and applying AI and ML in monitoring suspicious transactions in real time, to detect and prevent fraud early. At the same time, the bank focuses on raising user awareness, providing self-monitoring tools, locking/unlocking transactions on BIDV SmartBanking...

“ Only when the Government, banks, businesses and consumers act together, will the payment ecosystem be truly safe. For BIDV, digital transformation is not just about technology, but also about a commitment to bringing trust and safety in every transaction , ” Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Nhan emphasized.

On October 2 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, representatives of the Retail Products Department, BIDV Card and Operation Center attended the career orientation seminar "Protecting personal finances - Mastering money", contributing to spreading financial knowledge to the community and affirming BIDV's vision in accompanying the young generation to master the financial future.

According to the plan, on October 18-19, 2025, the event "Vietnam Card Day - Wave Festival" will be held at Bach Khoa Stadium, Hanoi.
