Allocate 83.6 billion VND to repair Ho Chi Minh road through Phuoc Son

Accordingly, voters commented that some sections of the Ho Chi Minh Highway through Phuoc Son District have degraded, some sections have sharp curves and are out of sight, which can easily cause accidents. "In addition, some sections are under repair but have no warning signs, no guides, while the number of vehicles is very large, posing a potential risk to traffic safety. We request that solutions to ensure traffic safety be implemented" - voters reflected.

The Minister of Transport said that the Ho Chi Minh road through Phuoc Son district is 54.25km long (km1353-km1407+595), the road surface structure is mainly made of cement concrete, invested in construction and handed over for exploitation and use since 2004. Currently, there has been local damage, cracks, and broken corners of cement concrete pavement slabs, causing some sections to deteriorate.

To deal with the damage, every year, the Ministry of Transport has allocated funds to periodically repair severely damaged cement concrete road sections; and to regularly manage, maintain, and repair slightly damaged cement concrete slabs. From 2023 to now, the Ministry of Transport has allocated VND 83.6 billion to implement repair projects on this section.

During the process of management, exploitation and monitoring of potential traffic accident locations, the review and handling of "black spots" and potential traffic accident locations are carried out according to regulations. At the same time, the traffic safety system is repaired and supplemented. The above projects with the solution of replacing damaged cement concrete slabs with asphalt concrete mats, adding and strengthening the warning system (tire wall guardrails, raising the soft guardrail from 1 floor to 2 floors...) have created convenience and improved traffic safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic.

During the construction of repair projects, the road management agency directed the patrol force of the regional road management office and the supervisory consultant to strengthen close supervision of traffic safety, and to fully install warning systems in accordance with the approved plans and construction permits.
