After more than 40 years in the arts, Hong Nhung announced that she will embark on a new chapter in her career with the mission of spreading positivity.

This change will be clearly demonstrated in the live show. Hong Nhung sings about Hanoi. It will take place on November 30th at the Ho Guom Theater.
Born and raised in Hanoi, and considered one of the best singers of songs about Hanoi, why did Hong Nhung only now have a live show dedicated to the capital city?
Perhaps everything in this world requires a certain kind of destiny. Although I've never done a live show about Hanoi, I have released an album and songs about this city. To be honest, I'm doing this live show because of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi, and I'm very busy with songwriting and releasing music in the near future. For any artist, doing a live show is a challenge.

What does Hanoi mean to Hong Nhung?
I was born in the house at 11 Dien Bien Phu Street, Hanoi, a house with old French architecture. Even now, in my dreams, that house still appears with indelible memories. It has influenced my worldview, my perception of beauty, my way of living, my singing, and my creative process as an artist.
Will all of that be showcased in Hong Nhung's upcoming live show about Hanoi?
The live show will tell the story of the past, present, and future. Hanoi has just experienced Typhoon Yagi, which, in addition to the loss of life and property, uprooted more than 500 ancient trees. This is a memory for many people, a source of inspiration for generations of poetry, music, and art. Furthermore, this live show is staged in a novel way, like a performance program featuring many different art forms, not just music. Through this, I also want to introduce a new chapter in Hong Nhung's journey as an artist.
Why did you only now consider yourself an artist?
Perhaps it's because my understanding of the word "artist" is slightly different. I've always been a singer, and being able to sing for so long has been a great privilege. But now I realize that it's time for every word I say, every product I bring to the audience, to have a clear message, to bring positive things to life. After two years in Paris (France), interacting with and learning from many different artists about music, fashion, classical music, opera, etc., I can confidently apply these skills to my art to convey my own perspectives and viewpoints.

Do you feel any pressure on this new path?
I don't feel any pressure at all; everything feels very natural, like a need to create art that I want to share. The more I see it, the more I understand and want to practice the philosophy of musician Trịnh Công Sơn: "Life is finite, but love is infinite." Life around us is beautiful; the important thing is whether we know how to open our eyes to see the beauty. That's an incredibly valuable lesson that Sơn taught me. He advised: "If someone waves to you in the morning, remember to wave back immediately, because who knows, tomorrow either that person or you might no longer be in this world." Currently, I've also found a team of like-minded people who create meaningful products.
Besides the live show Hong Nhung sings about Hanoi. and documentary series After enjoying the success of "Thuong Dac" with Bong , what can audiences expect from her next projects?

I will release my album later this year. Thank It includes 11 songs about social issues that I'm currently concerned about and pondering. They might not become hits, but it's something I think needs to be done. Besides that, there's also a modern music album where each song is inspired by a folk song. This is a new experiment, something no other artist has done before. Notably, it also includes compositions by Hong Nhung.
To describe Hong Nhung's image at the present time, what would you say?
As an artist, I came to freedom.
Thank you!
