The iPhone's volume buttons can also be used for various other functions depending on the app currently open. Here are a few interesting features.
Take photos in the Camera app.
When taking photos in portrait and photo modes with the front and rear cameras, simply press either volume button to capture the image. For panorama mode, the first press captures the image, and the second press stops recording.
Most other Apple apps with photo-taking features, such as Contacts, Mail, Notes, and Reminders, can be accessed using the volume shortcut. Additionally, the volume keys also work with most third-party photo-taking apps like Snapseed, Instagram, Snapchat, and Lightroom.

Scan documents
In apps like "Files," "Mail," "Notes," or "Reminders," you can scan documents using the camera. Normally, when you use the scan feature, the iPhone will automatically capture the document. However, in some cases, if the camera doesn't automatically recognize the document, you can use the volume shortcut to capture the document instead of pressing the on-screen shutter button.
Turn off the alarm.
This is a necessary feature, but one that requires careful use. When your phone rings for an alarm, you can press either of the two volume buttons to silence the notification without having to find the mute button on the screen. However, this convenience might cause users to oversleep.
Therefore, set the alarm to repeat after a short time has passed since you muted it. Otherwise, the device will default to being silent until the next alarm.
Mute calls
You can use the volume keys to mute the ringtone for incoming calls or to stop the phone from vibrating if it's in silent mode. Using any volume key for incoming calls is available not only for regular calls but also works with FaceTime and other calling apps.
Turn off Find My Sound
When you activate the Find My app to locate your iPhone, it will play a loud sound. To quickly turn this sound off, simply press one of the two volume buttons on your iPhone once you find it.
Turn on the emergency call screen.
SOS is an emergency feature activated by simultaneously holding down the power button and the volume up button on an iPhone.
After about three seconds, the device displays an interface with three main tasks: Power off, show the owner's medical information, and make an emergency call. If these actions are performed repeatedly, the device will display a countdown timer and automatically call the emergency number after the countdown ends.
Requires starting the machine.
When your device is running slowly, unresponsive to touch, or experiencing software errors, a hard restart is often the best way to restore it. To do this, press and hold the three physical buttons—the volume buttons and the power button—simultaneously until the screen turns off. Then release the volume buttons but continue holding the power button until the Apple logo appears.
