Reporting to the working group, Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) said that up to now, the project has completed more than 96.5% of the work volume. The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, nearly 6 months ahead of schedule compared to the original plan.
At the construction site, there are currently about 600 engineers and workers divided into 30 construction teams, focusing on implementing the final items such as: installing median strips, painting road markings, installing lighting systems and constructing asphalt concrete layers for the remaining sections on the Dong Thap side.

Speaking at the inspection, Minister Tran Hong Minh praised the urgent and responsible working spirit of the staff, engineers and workers at the construction site. The Minister assessed that not only was the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge nearly half a year ahead of schedule, it was also a testament to the significant progress in the construction industry's autonomy, as domestic units took control of the entire design, construction and equipment manufacturing process - contributing to cost savings and improving investment efficiency.
“This is a remarkable achievement. Collectives and individuals with good achievements should be commended and recommended for rewards. Effective contractors should also be given priority to participate in future projects,” the Minister emphasized.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project has a total investment of more than 6,810 billion VND from the State budget. The bridge starts at Dong Tam intersection (National Highway 1 intersects with DT.870, Dong Thap province) and ends at Km16+660 on National Highway 60 (in Vinh Long province), about 0.71km from Ham Luong Bridge.
The main bridge is designed in a modern cable-stayed form, 1.971km long, 21.5m wide with 4 lanes for motor vehicles, designed speed of 80km/h. When completed, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will contribute to reducing the load on the existing Rach Mieu Bridge, relieving traffic pressure, and at the same time creating momentum for socio-economic development for the Mekong Delta region.
