Spending more than 8.5 billion VND to support teachers and reduce tuition fees

(Dan Tri) - Mr. Do Minh Tuan, Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, signed a decision approving additional budget estimates to implement policies and regimes for a number of educational institutions in the province.

The Chairman of Thanh Hoa province has approved a total additional budget of more than VND8.5 billion to implement policies to support teachers and students. Of which, nearly VND6.7 billion is for the contract teacher regime, more than VND1 billion for staff changes and more than VND741 million for boarding policies, tuition exemptions, study costs and support for students with disabilities.

This fund is taken from the education, training and vocational training expenditure source in the Thanh Hoa province budget estimate for 2024.

The Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Finance to be responsible for the accuracy, legality and approval authority of related contents.

The Department of Finance is also responsible for disseminating this decision and guiding educational institutions to implement it, ensuring compliance with regulations. Together with the Thanh Hoa State Treasury, the Department of Finance will inspect, control and carry out procedures for full and timely funding.

The Director of the Department of Finance and the Director of the State Treasury of Thanh Hoa have the right to refuse ineligible expenditures and are responsible for their decisions according to the provisions of law.

Educational institutions are assigned the task of managing and using funds in accordance with regulations and policies, and at the same time organizing the selection of contractors in compliance with legal regulations. Principals of educational institutions must properly perform their duties and be responsible for their decisions.

Relevant departments, agencies and units are responsible for monitoring, guiding and resolving tasks related to the implementation of educational institutions receiving additional funding.
