In April, seven groups of goods and services saw price increases, three saw price decreases, while the education group remained stable compared to March.
Of the seven commodity groups that saw price increases, several experienced significant rise, impacting the CPI considerably. The transportation group increased by 1.98%, primarily due to rising fuel prices. The housing, electricity, water, fuel, and construction materials group increased by 0.11% due to rising housing prices.
The food and beverage group increased by 0.44%, mainly due to rising prices of livestock meat, poultry meat, and processed meat.
Meanwhile, some items saw price decreases in April compared to March, such as: flour and other grains decreased by 6.74%; and clothing items such as ready-made garments decreased by 0.17%.
