Compared to the previous month, 5 groups of goods and services saw price increases and 5 groups saw price decreases. The education group, however, maintained stable prices.
Specifically, the price index for housing, electricity, water, fuel, and construction materials increased the most at 0.58%, mainly due to a 1.2% increase in household electricity prices and a 4.48% increase in gas prices. The culture, entertainment, and tourism group decreased by 0.61%, primarily due to a drop in cultural equipment such as televisions. The package tour services group decreased by 5.17%, and the food and beverage services group decreased by 0.14%, mainly due to a decrease in food items.
Compared to December, the consumer price index this month increased as people began shopping for Tet (Lunar New Year).
