Anti-counterfeiting, anti-intellectual property infringement, anti-commercial fraud

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Do Hong Trung, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389, said that in the recent context, the production and trading of counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights and other commercial frauds have been complicated nationwide.

Counterfeit goods, goods that infringe intellectual property rights, and commercial fraud cause great damage to the economy , undermine consumer confidence, directly affect business development, and pose potential risks to public health and social security. This is not only a problem of one industry or one locality, but a common task of the whole society, in which businesses and consumers play an extremely important role.

At the conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights in Da Nang has been vigorously deployed in recent times.

In particular, during the recent peak of the fight, the Steering Committee 389 of Da Nang city closely followed the Central's instructions, promptly and effectively implemented them; and was one of the localities that was commended, recognized and highly appreciated by the Government in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and goods that infringe intellectual property rights.

Delegates discussed and pointed out limitations and causes to help the fight against counterfeit goods, intellectual property infringement, and commercial fraud in the coming time become more effective and practical, especially in the digital age.

At the same time, propose synchronous solutions to contribute to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, protecting the rights and interests of people, businesses and national interests.

According to the report of the National Steering Committee 389, in the first 6 months of 2025, functional forces nationwide inspected and handled 50,419 cases related to smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (down 21.45% over the same period). Particularly in the peak month from May 15 to June 15, functional forces nationwide inspected and handled 10,437 cases.
