AFC President shares grief with player Vo Minh Hieu's family

In a letter to VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan, AFC President Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa expressed: "I am deeply saddened and shocked to receive information about the tragic traffic accident involving the Quang Nam Youth Football Team, when the team was on their way back after a match in the Vietnam Second Division Football Championship. The saddest thing is that player Vo Minh Hieu is no longer with us. I would like to send my deepest condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Vo Minh Hieu. I hope all the injured will soon fully recover."

Vo Minh Hieu was born in 2002, is a player of the Quang Nam Youth Club competing in the 2023 national second division football tournament. On the way from Kon Tum to Tam Ky, the car carrying the Quang Nam Youth team had an accident while going down Vi O Lac pass (in Ba To district, Quang Ngai province), causing Vo Minh Hieu to pass away. This is a great loss for the team and especially the family of player Vo Minh Hieu.

This morning (June 26), VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi represented VFF to offer condolences, encourage the family of player Vo Minh Hieu and burn incense to bid farewell to player Vo Minh Hieu to his final resting place. On behalf of VFF, General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi presented 50 million VND in support to the family of player Vo Minh Hieu as well as visited and presented support money to the two players and fans who were injured and are being treated at the hospital.

Previously, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan sent his deepest condolences to the entire team, especially the family of player Vo Minh Hieu, about the loss and pain in the traffic accident of the Quang Nam Youth Football Team.

In the condolence letter, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan expressed: "On behalf of the VFF Executive Committee, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and most sincere condolences to the family of the player involved in the accident; hope that the family of the deceased player will soon overcome this painful moment; hope that the injured players and fans will soon recover and return to football.
