Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her gratitude to the Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament, Nataliya Kiselova, for taking the time to receive her, and also respectfully thanked her for the congratulatory letter on the occasion of Vietnam's 80th National Day and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Emphasizing that over the past 75 years, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria has been continuously strengthened and developed, with parliamentary cooperation playing an important role, the Ambassador highly appreciated the close coordination between the two Parliaments, as demonstrated through recent high-level visits, contributing to promoting parliamentary cooperation, economic and trade cooperation, and the exchange of legislative experience.
The ambassador affirmed the desire for both sides to continue maintaining forms of delegation exchanges, online meetings, and coordination at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP).
Given that 2025 holds special significance for Vietnam, marked by many important historical milestones, the Ambassador believes this serves as a driving force for Vietnam to strengthen international integration and expand multifaceted cooperation with Bulgaria. The Ambassador expressed his hope that during his term, he will make every effort to contribute to elevating Vietnam-Bulgaria relations to a new level through enhanced high-level political dialogue, the promotion of the intergovernmental committee mechanism and political consultations, the advancement of economic, trade, and investment cooperation, and the expansion of cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet proposed several key areas of cooperation in the coming period, including the effective implementation of agreements between the two Parliaments, strengthening exchanges of delegations and sharing experiences in governance and legislation. In addition, the two sides could promote economic and trade cooperation and investment in potential areas such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, education and training, information technology, digital transformation, and green transformation; while also boosting cultural and educational cooperation, student exchanges, scholarships, and strengthening people-to-people exchanges.
Speaker of the National Assembly Nataliya Kiselova congratulated Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet on assuming her duties and congratulated Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its National Day and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Expressing delight at the positive development of the traditional friendship between the two countries over the past 75 years, especially through high-level visits and contacts, the Speaker of the National Assembly emphasized that the Bulgarian people have always held special affection for the Vietnamese people. In particular, current high-ranking Bulgarian leaders, especially President Rumen Radev and Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov (former Speaker of the National Assembly), who have visited Vietnam, have all shown affection and highly value the relationship with Vietnam.
Appreciating the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria to the local socio-economic development, Speaker of the Parliament Nataliya Kiselova affirmed that Bulgaria always values its relationship with Vietnam – a reliable partner with an important geostrategic position in Southeast Asia and Asia.
Agreeing with the Ambassador's proposals on strengthening parliamentary cooperation, including boosting the activities of the Parliamentary Friendship Group and exchanging legislative experiences, the Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament considered this one of the important driving forces for promoting bilateral relations.
Welcoming the upcoming visit and working trip of the Delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam's Ethnic Council, the leader affirmed that the Bulgarian Parliament will closely coordinate to ensure the trip yields practical results, contributing to further strengthening the bond and cooperation between the two Parliaments.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of friendship, trust, and mutual understanding, contributing to strengthening and deepening the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Bulgaria.
