Join hands to solve gender imbalance at birth

On the morning of September 28, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, the Vietnam Women's Union, and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Vietnam jointly organized a rally to launch the campaign "Joining hands to address gender imbalance at birth". Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended the program.

The program aims to raise public awareness of the causes and consequences of gender bias in fetal sex selection; and calls for greater efforts from the Government and relevant agencies to join hands to end the phenomenon of gender imbalance at birth, which is one of the forms of discrimination.
