On October 16, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province announced that this decision was signed by Mr. Do Tam Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, allowing Anh Thu Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (Nghia Lo Ward, Quang Ngai City) to convert more than 3 hectares of land on Ly Son Island.
Land types include land for growing other annual crops, land for education and training, land for traffic and land for cemeteries.
Notably, in the project's land types, there are more than 2.8 hectares of land for growing onions, garlic and other crops.
Previously, the Provincial People's Committee allowed enterprises to receive the transfer of agricultural land use rights from eligible households, and assigned the People's Committee of Ly Son district (now the People's Committee of Ly Son special economic zone) to reclaim and change the land use purpose to commercial and service land to serve the project.
According to the form of land use, the State leases land and collects rent once for the entire lease period. The land belongs to cadastral map sheet No. 32, Ly Son special zone, opposite An Binh island (Be island).
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Finance, the Tax Department of Quang Ngai province and Ly Son special economic zone to coordinate in determining specific land prices to calculate land rent; at the same time, monitor progress, supervise land use and compensation, support and resettlement work in accordance with regulations.
According to the documents, the Ly Son Heritage Cultural Tourism Complex project has a total investment of about 90 billion VND, located in the northwest coastal area of Ly Son island, with a sea frontage overlooking An Binh island.
The area around the project is currently sparsely populated, mainly growing onions and garlic. These are two typical crops of Ly Son Island.
The project was first approved for investment in 2019 and has been adjusted many times, with the latest adjustment decision issued at the end of 2024.
