Through specialized workshops, experts from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) equipped tourism professionals in Ha Tinh with the knowledge to leverage the role of smart QR code systems at tourist destinations.
On the morning of January 22nd, the Ha Tinh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the ADB Bank, inaugurated the Capacity Building Training Program: “Enhancing Tourist Experience through the Use of Smart QR Code Systems at Tourist Destinations in Ha Tinh”. The capacity-building training program: “Enhancing the visitor experience through the use of smart QR code systems at tourist destinations in Ha Tinh,” funded by the ADB, aims to raise awareness and equip tourism managers and stakeholders at the local level with knowledge on using QR code systems to enhance the visitor experience.
Ms. Le Thi Loan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh province, inaugurated the training course.
During the training program, international experts on smart tourism ecosystems from the ADB Bank delivered six lectures, including: The role of smart tourism ecosystems in promoting tourism recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic and developing a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient tourism industry; An overview of experiential tour programs using QR codes at tourist destinations; Tourist flow management at tourist destinations; Identifying challenges; Field visit to the Nguyen Du historical site and concluding activities; Using the STDC model to build a pilot model of smart QR codes and tourist flow management.

The training program is scheduled to take place over two days (January 21 and 22, 2024) with the participation of 60 trainees who are officials and staff working at district-level cultural departments and centers, historical sites, and tourist areas and attractions throughout the province.

Supporting the digitization of image data of tourist areas and destinations using augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies, artificial intelligence (AI-TTS), destination information programming, and Google Maps integration... through the use of QR code systems at destinations is one of the strategic contents for smart tourism development emphasized in Resolution No. 98/2022/NQ-HĐND dated December 16, 2022, on the Regulations on some policies for the development of culture, sports, and tourism in Ha Tinh province for the period 2023 - 2025. |
