WATCH THE CLIP:

On the evening of November 8th, a representative from the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) provided detailed information about the traffic accident between an ambulance and a police car on the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway.

Accordingly, on the morning of the same day, a traffic police team from Team 7, Road and Rail Traffic Patrol and Control Department (Traffic Police Department), using a car with license plate 80A-042.XX driven by Major Nguyen Ngoc Chau, was conducting patrol duties on the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway.

At Km76+400 (in Phu Nhuan commune, Cai Lay district, Tien Giang province ), the traffic police team spotted a passenger car with license plate 60K-246.XX that was broken down and parked in lane 2 of the highway, posing a risk of collision with other vehicles traveling on the route. The traffic police team stopped the car to inspect it and provided assistance and warnings to the driver.

During the vehicle stop for patrol and inspection, the traffic police team activated their emergency lights (rotating lights) and assigned one traffic police officer to direct traffic.

While on duty, the traffic police car was rear-ended by an ambulance with license plate 65A-183.XX, driven by NVH (26 years old, residing in Soc Trang ).

The strong impact resulted in one person in the ambulance sustaining minor injuries; both vehicles, the patrol car and the ambulance, were damaged.

The initial cause was determined to be the ambulance driver falling asleep and failing to pay attention.
