Previously, a parent posted on Facebook images and a complaint alleging that their son, a 7th-grade student, was beaten 20 times on the buttocks by his tutor, leaving him bruised. The reason given was that the student had made a mistake on his homework.
Speaking to reporters, the child's mother (who wished to remain anonymous) said that her son is taking extra math and science lessons at the home of a 31-year-old teacher on Nguyen Khoa Dang Street (Thanh Nhat Ward) for a fee of 600,000 VND per month.
The incident occurred on July 3rd. Because he made a mistake on his homework, the teacher hit his son 20 times on the buttocks. Initially, the child kept it a secret from his mother, and the family only found out when they overheard the children talking to each other.
"When I saw the bruises on my son's buttocks, I was very upset and couldn't believe the teacher would behave like that. When I complained, the teacher explained that she hit my son due to work pressure and the pressure of raising a young child. We did not accept this explanation and reported the incident to the police," the angry parent shared.
According to this parent, upon investigation, it was found that the teacher not only hit her son but also many other students in the tutoring class.
"After the authorities intervened, the teacher came to our house to apologize. We do not forgive this behavior, so we will not remove the post that was published on social media. However, I still want to give the teacher a way out, so I will not reveal her name or the school where she works," the female parent shared.
The parent expressed the view that while a teacher giving one or two spankings as a form of discipline might be acceptable, severely beating students to vent personal stress and frustration is unacceptable.
This female teacher works at a school in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province.
