(QNO) - This afternoon, January 19, 2024, at the headquarters of the Quang Nam Provincial Police, the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee held a conference to review the implementation of Decree 03/2019/ND-CP in 2023 on coordination between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense in performing the tasks of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, fighting and preventing crimes and national defense tasks, and deploying tasks in 2024. According to the assessment, in 2023, the Public Security, Military, Border Guard forces of Quang Nam province, the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 and units under the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of National Defense , Military Region V stationed in the province have coordinated well to perform the role of advising Party committees and authorities at all levels to lead and direct the building of people's security, national defense, and border defense, associated with building an increasingly solid defense area, building the province's armed forces to be united, close, and closely connected.

The forces coordinated to organize 611 mass mobilizations with more than 62,000 participants, advising on the effective implementation of the work of building a mass movement to protect national security, maintaining and consolidating effective models of self-defense and self-management of security and order.

In addition, the units also organize and implement models to help people develop the economy, firmly protect sovereignty in border areas and islands, and accompany fishermen and farmers to help connect and effectively carry out mass mobilization work.

The coordination work to implement Decree 03 has achieved many outstanding results in many aspects, completing the assigned tasks, making an important contribution to effectively serving the socio-economic development tasks of the locality.

The units regularly exchange and verify information with nearly 1,600 pieces of information, thereby promptly advising the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, and local authorities to direct the implementation of solutions to ensure national defense and security, and handle complicated situations that arise.

Notably, the Police, Border Guard, and Coast Guard coordinated to arrest and prosecute 14 cases, 14 suspects of illegal drug trafficking, possession, and organization, seizing more than 6.4 kg of marijuana and 16 grams of synthetic drugs; the Border Guard arrested and transferred 1 case, 1 suspect to the provincial police for further investigation, seizing 445 million VND and 40 million Lao Kip; arrested and handed over 1 wanted suspect to the provincial police.

At the conference, delegates from all forces focused on evaluating and clarifying the achieved results, discussing existing problems and shortcomings, and proposing solutions and directions to improve the effectiveness of coordination work in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Van Dung acknowledged and commended the results, achievements, efforts and attempts of the forces.

Emphasizing the key tasks in 2024, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that the forces continue to thoroughly grasp, strengthen and improve the work of Party building, building the People's Public Security force and the People's Army to be truly clean, strong, revolutionary, and to well fulfill the requirements and tasks in the new situation.

On this occasion, 4 collectives and 4 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in implementing Decree 03 of the Government.
