Strengthening and enhancing the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China

On behalf of the Vietnamese National Assembly , the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly welcomed the high-level delegation of the Cuban Committee for the Defense of the Revolution on their visit and working trip to Vietnam.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly expressed his pleasure at seeing the relationship between the two countries continue to develop positively, as evidenced by the direct and online contacts of high-level leaders of the Party, State, and Government of both countries, including the recent official visit to Cuba by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, which contributed to further deepening the special relationship between the two countries in general and between the two National Assemblies in particular.

To consolidate and strengthen the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba (Figure 1) — Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man received Mr. Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Chairman of the Cuban Committee for the Defense of the Revolution.

Affirming that Vietnam always pays attention to and monitors the situation in Cuba, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man shared his thoughts on the difficulties and challenges that his comrades and the fraternal Cuban people are facing. Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his firm belief that under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the fraternal Cuban people will soon overcome these difficulties, maintain political and social stability, and continue to implement the updated socio-economic model that has yielded many results in the past year. Cuba's success inspires confidence and motivates friendly countries, including Vietnam.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly welcomed and highly appreciated the results and the increasingly close, effective, and practical cooperation between the two Front organizations, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba through the successful implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the period 2012-2022 and the Agreement on cooperation for the period 2023-2028, which the two sides recently signed on May 16; and requested the Fronts of the two countries to actively coordinate in implementing the signed contents effectively.

Thanking Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive the delegation, Chairman of the Cuban Committee for the Defense of the Revolution Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo said that the concrete and practical results achieved during the delegation's working visit will contribute to further consolidating and strengthening the special traditional friendship, fraternal solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and mutual trust between the two Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba.

According to the Chairman of the Cuban Committee for the Defense of the Revolution, the Cuban people greatly admire the achievements that Vietnam has made in building and developing a prosperous country. In addition, the two sides can exchange and learn from each other's experiences in many fields.

Informing the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man about the results of the working session between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Cuban Committee for the Defense of the Revolution during the delegation's visit, Mr. Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo said that the two sides had signed a bilateral cooperation agreement for the period 2023-2028; he expressed confidence that the implementation of the agreement's contents would promote increasingly close and effective cooperation between the two agencies.
