62 suspects arrested for attacking commune headquarters in Dak Lak

According to information from the Dak Lak Provincial Police, as of June 17th, 62 suspects had been arrested.

The majority of these individuals reside in Krông Búk district. Some are from other areas within the province, and some are from outside the province.

Currently, the Dak Lak Provincial Police are coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate, take statements, and clarify the roles of each suspect and those involved.

The police also seized a quantity of weapons including: 4 military-grade firearms, 4 homemade guns, nearly 200 rounds of ammunition, 2 grenades, knives, various homemade weapons, and many other documents and evidence.

As previously reported, in the early morning of June 11th, a group of people armed with guns, knives, and various weapons unexpectedly attacked the headquarters of the People's Committees of Ea Tiêu and Ea Ktur communes in Cư Kuin district. The armed attack resulted in the deaths of four commune police officers, two commune officials, and three civilians, while two commune police officers were also injured.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, during questioning, the group of suspects admitted that they "had received instructions to kill and rob any officials or local police officers they encountered, including weapons and ammunition."

The Ministry of Public Security assessed the aforementioned incident as a serious act of disrupting security and order, which was organized, extremely reckless, barbaric, and inhumane.

According to reports, the situation in the two communes where the incident occurred and throughout Dak Lak province has returned to normal as it was before June 11th. The People's Committees of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes are currently repairing the damage to resume operations and serve the local people as soon as possible.

Lieutenant General To An Xo, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Security, stated, “The police force is conducting investigations and handling the case quickly and in accordance with regulations; implementing comprehensive measures to eliminate the risk of similar incidents occurring and exploiting the incident to incite unrest and disrupt security and order; directing and reviewing all plans to ensure absolute security in key areas, targets, and sectors; and preparing forces and resources to handle any complex situations that may arise.”
