According to statistics, over 1.16 million candidates nationwide will participate in the 2025 high school graduation exam, an increase of nearly 100,000 compared to the previous year.
This year's high school graduation exam is particularly unique as it's divided into two groups of candidates: over 1.13 million students are taking the exam under the 2018 general education program (also known as the new program), while approximately 25,000 students are taking the exam under the 2006 program (the old program).
Candidates taking the new program will take four exams: mathematics, literature, and two elective subjects from the following: foreign language, chemistry, physics, biology, history, geography, economics and law education, informatics, and technology (agriculture, industry).
Candidates from the old curriculum take exams in mathematics, literature, and a foreign language, along with a combined exam in either natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology) or social sciences (history, geography, civics).
According to regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, the examination boards of provinces and cities will complete the grading of the high school graduation exams until July 13th (summarizing the grading process, sending data to the Ministry of Education and Training, and comparing exam results). At exactly 8:00 AM on July 16th, the examination boards will announce the exam results.
Departments of Education and Training must complete the high school graduation review no later than July 18th, and high school principals must issue temporary graduation certificates, return transcripts, and other relevant certificates (original copies) to candidates no later than July 22nd.
Candidates wishing to appeal their exam results should submit their applications to the examination registration units from July 16th to July 25th. The appeal process will be completed no later than August 3rd, and graduation eligibility will be determined no later than August 8th.
Departments of Education and Training must submit the list of candidates who have been recognized as graduates to the Ministry of Education and Training no later than August 15th.
