Da Nang has 374 primary and secondary schools with primary level. Of these, there are 300 primary schools, 41 primary - secondary schools, 23 primary boarding schools for ethnic minorities, and 10 primary - secondary boarding schools for ethnic minorities.

100% of primary schools have sufficient number and structure of teachers; implement 2 sessions/day of teaching, with a reasonable allocation plan between educational contents, creating conditions for students to participate in elective subjects and extracurricular activities.
Primary school students in Da Nang participate in many exciting extracurricular activities. In the 2024-2025 school year, Da Nang will have 100% of students in grades 3, 4, and 5 studying the English program according to the 2018 General Education Program; 95% of students in grades 1 and 2 will study elective English with 1-2 periods/week.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Da Nang's primary education sector will focus on effectively implementing the General Education Program; at the same time, promoting 2-session teaching/day to improve quality. In terms of facilities, the sector will continue to invest in building more schools that meet national standards, especially boarding schools in border areas.
Primary schools in Da Nang will promote innovation in teaching methods towards developing students' capacity and qualities, promoting STEM/STEAM programs, digital skills and applying artificial intelligence (AI).
Along with that, continue to ensure equity in access to education through strengthening universal education and effectively implementing inclusive education... These are key tasks to create new progress for primary education in the city.
