Through a series of propaganda activities, students have improved their knowledge and skills in drug prevention at school, understanding of the Law of the Sea and the Law of the Vietnam Coast Guard, in order to foster love for the sea and islands among students.

At the conference summarizing the work of the Coast Guard in 2025 at the Drug Crime Prevention and Control Task Force No. 3 on December 5, Major General Le Dinh Cuong - Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard acknowledged, commended and congratulated the results and achievements that the Party Committee, officers and soldiers of the Drug Crime Prevention and Control Task Force No. 3 had achieved in 2025.

The working group assessed that in 2025, the Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 3 carried out its tasks in favorable and difficult conditions, and the drug crime situation in the area and the sea areas assigned to it continued to have many complex and sophisticated developments. In that context, the Party Committee, officers and soldiers of the Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 3 were united, brave, and determined to effectively and comprehensively deploy all aspects of work.
The unit has successfully coordinated to fight 29 special projects and cases, arrested 39 subjects, and performed its tasks exceeding the set targets; coordinated well with local Party committees, authorities, and units stationed in the area in building the area associated with effectively and qualitatively implementing basic professional work and fighting drug crimes. During the implementation of the tasks, the unit ensured absolute safety for people and vehicles; did not let criminals escape, did not have wrongful convictions, complaints, etc.
In 2025, the unit effectively carried out 7 campaigns of propaganda, dissemination and legal education combined with the mass mobilization program "Coast Guard with ethnic and religious compatriots" for 4,741 cadres, teachers, students and fishermen.
Typically, a series of mass mobilization activities "Coast Guard with ethnic and religious compatriots" was organized in Phuoc Thang ward, Ho Chi Minh City, giving 60 gifts to people, giving 10 bicycles to students who have overcome difficulties, and giving a scholarship to sponsor 1 student. The program also included propaganda on the harmful effects of drugs and drug prevention skills for students and people. At the same time, it also propagated knowledge and understanding of the sea and islands to students in the area, raising students' understanding of the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

Previously, also in Phuoc Thang ward, the Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 3 had a propaganda session, instructing more than 1,000 students of Phuoc Thang Secondary School on how to recognize common drugs today; the harmful effects of drugs; the tricks of drug criminals; common manifestations of drug addicts, especially synthetic drugs...
Through this, students will have a deeper understanding of the dangers of drugs, the harmful effects of drugs on human health, spirit and personality. In addition to these propaganda sessions, the unit also integrates social security activities, propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, helping students understand more about the sea and islands, especially spreading the message of love for the sea and islands through the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" organized by the Vietnam Coast Guard Command in coordination with localities.
Faced with increasingly high mission requirements, Major General Le Dinh Cuong requested the Anti-drug Task Force No. 3 to continue to promote tradition, uphold the spirit of responsibility, and be determined to excellently complete the mission in 2026.

Maintain combat readiness forces and equipment at all levels as prescribed; closely coordinate and cooperate with local authorities and forces stationed in the area; proactively and effectively combat drug crimes as prescribed by law and assigned functions and tasks; the entire unit focuses on ensuring absolute safety during the performance of tasks.
Major General Le Dinh Cuong also requested the Anti-drug Task Force No. 3 to effectively implement programs on mass mobilization, propaganda, dissemination, and education of laws, the Convention on the Law of the Sea, and the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard in the stationed area in conjunction with the deployment of the peak period of fighting and suppressing crimes and violations before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo in 2026.
Box: The contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" is an initiative organized by the Coast Guard for over 10 years, which has created positive effects and was officially approved by the Minister of National Defense as a project to be organized nationwide on September 3, 2024. The contest aims to promote the positive impacts of the previous stage, overcome some limitations and shortcomings, as well as create a more widespread effect.
Since the beginning of 2025, Coast Guard units have coordinated with the People's Committees and Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities to successfully organize dozens of "I love my homeland's sea and islands" contests, bringing positive effects in fostering love for the sea and islands of the Fatherland for secondary school students, thereby raising their sense of civic responsibility in the present and future.
