Duy Tan University has added Food Technology and Construction Engineering Technology majors that meet ABET standards.

The Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC), a body under the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, USA), has just announced the accreditation results for two training programs:

- Food Technology , and

- Construction Engineering Technology

of Duy Tan University. Accordingly, these two programs were recognized as meeting the international ABET accreditation standards on August 28, 2025, with a maximum term of 6 years, based on the results of the accreditation process held from December 8 to 10, 2024.

To date, Duy Tan University has had 6 training programs that have met ABET accreditation standards, including 4 previously achieved training programs, including:

- Network Engineering , accredited in August 2019,

- Management Information System , accredited in August 2019,

- Electrical and Electronic Engineering/Technology , accredited in August 2020, and

- Software Engineering/Technology , accredited in August 2021,

Duy Tan University is the second university in Vietnam to have ABET-accredited programs (after Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University, 2014). According to the announcement from ABET, along with Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Duy Tan University is currently one of the two universities with the largest number of accredited programs in Vietnam: 6 programs. Not only outstanding in quantity, Duy Tan University's programs also demonstrate diversity when they have been accredited by 3 out of 4 ABET committees (the most in Vietnam), including: EAC (Engineering Accreditation Commission), CAC (Computing Accreditation Commission), and ETAC (Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission).

10 Vietnamese schools have ABET-accredited programs, specifically:

- Duy Tan University has 6 programs.

- Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry has 6 programs.

- Hanoi University of Industry has 5 programs.

- Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University has 2 programs.

- International University - Ho Chi Minh City National University has 2 programs.

- Lac Hong University has 2 programs.

- Vietnam University of Petroleum has 3 programs.

- Saigon International Private University has 1 program.

- Tra Vinh University has 1 program.

- Cao Thang Technical College (HCMC) has 4 programs.

Notably, all six of Duy Tan University's ABET-accredited programs achieved the highest level of accreditation: 6 years.

The Food Technology and Construction Engineering Technology programs of Duy Tan University are recognized and highly appreciated in many aspects by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC-ABET). ABET was founded in 1932 with four Accreditation Commissions:

- Natural and Applied Sciences Commission (ANSAC),

- Computer Science Committee (CAC),

- Technical Committee (EAC), and

- Technical and Technology Committee (ETAC).

Currently, ABET accredits 4,773 programs at 930 universities and colleges in 42 countries. More than 200,000 students graduate from ABET-accredited programs each year, and millions of graduates have earned degrees from ABET-accredited programs since 1932.

Different from the assessment and recognition according to the level of response from 1-7 (by AUN-QA or domestic accreditation), to be recognized by ABET as having achieved the highest level of accreditation (6 years), training programs must absolutely meet 100% of the criteria required by ABET. If any criteria of the training program do not meet the requirements of ABET, the program is considered to have failed the accreditation or can only be considered for temporary conditional recognition at a maximum level of 2 years.

According to the report of the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC-ABET), the two programs of Food Technology and Construction Engineering Technology of Duy Tan University do not have any “deficiency”, “weakness” or “concern”. This is a testament to the training quality of Duy Tan University, which fully meets international standards. Both programs are accredited for a maximum period of 6 years (until September 30, 2031).
