Many schools have high admission scores, like the "hot" public high schools.
Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School is leading the private school sector with an admission score of 24.5, applicable to both campuses.
The school calculates the total score for three subjects: mathematics, literature, and foreign language. Students need to achieve an average of at least 8.2 points per subject to be eligible for admission. This level is equivalent to the top 8 public schools with the highest admission scores.
The three campuses of Marie Curie School have three different admission scores: My Dinh campus (23 points), Van Phu campus (22 points), and Viet Hung campus (21 points). These are the scores for the first round of admissions.
The school will hold a second round of admissions with a lower score of 1 point if there are still vacancies.

Several other private schools also announced scores above 20, including: FPT and Archimedes Dong Anh : 22 points, Hoang Mai Star: 22 points, Newton: 21.5 points, Ly Thai To: 20 points.
Phan Huy Chú Autonomous Public School (Dong Da District) also announced the cutoff score for admission to 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year as 23.5.
How to confirm enrollment
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, after receiving their scores, if candidates have any questions about their exam results and wish to appeal, they can submit an application from July 4th to 10th. Candidates will receive the appeal results at the Department of Education and Training on July 28th.
Then, from July 28th to 30th, schools will continue processing student applications after the review of exam results. Successful candidates (after the review) will confirm their enrollment.
Additionally, on July 17th, schools that have not yet met their enrollment quotas will conduct supplementary admissions. Candidates should monitor the process and, if accepted in the supplementary admissions between July 19th and 22nd, must confirm their enrollment.
If students are not accepted into any of their preferred options, they can consider choosing a private high school, a continuing education center, or a vocational school.
Confirmation of enrollment is a mandatory procedure; students must register at one of the schools they have been accepted into and complete the enrollment confirmation process from 1:30 PM on July 10th until the end of July 12th.
For public high schools, students can choose to confirm their admission online or in person.

With the online form, students log in with their account and password to the city's primary admission system, select the name of their admission wish and confirm their admission, choose to print or save the admission confirmation form and complete the process. In case of being admitted to multiple different wishes, students can change and confirm their admission again on the system before 24 hours on July 12.
In person, students submit a copy of the Entrance Exam Result Report to the school they wish to be admitted to.
For financially autonomous public high schools, private schools, vocational education and continuing education centers, and vocational training institutions, admitted students must confirm their enrollment in person, and the school will accept supplementary admission documents if any until July 22nd.
This year, Hanoi has more than 103,000 students competing for 81,000 public school places, with an admission rate of 78.6%.
Compared to 127,000 9th grade students in the 2024-2025 school year in Hanoi, the rate of students entering public 10th grade after junior high school is about 64%.
This number increases by about 3% compared to 2024, corresponding to about 1,500 more study places.
