What is the failing score of the 2024 high school graduation exam?

According to the regulations on high school graduation recognition of the Ministry of Education and Training , candidates who are eligible to take the exam, have not had their exam results revoked, all exams and component subjects of the combined exam score above 1 point on a 10-point scale and have a graduation score of 5 or higher will be recognized as high school graduates.

Comparing this regulation, the failing score for the 2024 high school graduation exam is 1 point or less.

High school students must take a graduation exam with 3 compulsory exams and 1 combined exam.

The three compulsory subjects are math, literature, and foreign language. The combined test includes social science (history, geography, civics ) and natural science (physics, chemistry, biology) depending on the candidate's choice.

To avoid failing, candidates need to have all exams and all subjects in the combined exam score above 1 point.

To be recognized as a graduate, candidates need to achieve a total graduation score of 5 or higher with the condition of having no failing scores.

The formula for calculating high school graduation scores is as follows:

For high school students:

Average score = {(Total score of 4 high school graduation exams + Total incentive points)/4 x 7 + Average score of the whole year of grade 12 x 3}/10 + Priority points.

For students studying the high school continuing education program:

Average score = {(Total score of 3 high school graduation exams/3 + Total incentive points/4) x 7 + Average score of the whole year of grade 12 x 3}/10 + Priority points.

At 8am tomorrow, July 17, the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the high school graduation exam scores.
