The demand for green energy sources is increasing.
Faced with hot weather and rising electricity prices, Mr. Nguyen Van Trong's family in Tran Phu Ward ( Ha Tinh ) decided to install rooftop solar power. With this solution, his family has a stable, safe source of electricity and can completely reduce long-term costs.
He said: “The total installation cost is 200 million VND, with a capacity of 12 kWh, using a storage system. I only have to pay the initial installation cost but will be proactive in using electricity. With a solar power system, my family only spends 3 million VND per month on grid electricity, reducing about 70% of the electricity bill compared to before.”

The demand for installing self-produced and self-consumed solar power is increasing in Ha Tinh, not only in urban areas but also in rural areas.
Mr. Ha Van Thanh, Ky Hoa commune said: “I installed the type with storage, which means that not only during the day, my family can also use it at night. With a battery capacity of 9kw/h, my family can use electricity quite comfortably, saving costs and reducing emissions to protect the living environment.”

At Phu Khuong Seafood Purchasing and Processing Cooperative (Ky Xuan Commune), the solar power system has become a sustainable, efficient and cost-optimized production solution. Ms. Le Thi Khuong - Director of the Cooperative said: "Since 2017, we have invested in building fish sauce tanks with solar panels, automatically stirred by closed pipes and heated by solar energy. After 8 years, this solution is still optimal in production, fish incubation time is reduced to 6 months, reducing labor, reducing production costs by 50%.

According to people and businesses, the use of solar power is increasingly showing many advantages and benefits, reducing living and production costs; clean energy source, safe, environmentally friendly. In particular, the use of green energy is also a trend and a competitive factor in the market. On the other hand, the cost of investing in solar power is increasingly reasonable, modern technology helps people and businesses to invest more boldly.
Mr. Truong Dinh Quy - Director of Kim Quy Energy Company Limited (Tran Phu Ward) said: "Currently, the company is managing, operating and maintaining more than 30 rooftop solar power projects (capacity of 30 MWp) in the area. Compared to previous years, technology has been increasingly improved, installation prices have decreased by about 50% compared to before, so it attracts more attention from customers. If the need is for household use, people only need about 70 million VND (capacity of 10 KhW) to own a rooftop solar power system".
Strive for green energy goals

At the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), Vietnam committed to reducing CO2 emissions to zero by 2050. To achieve this goal, the Politburo also issued Resolution No. 55-NQ/TW on the strategic orientation for Vietnam's national energy development to 2030, with a vision to 2045; the Prime Minister approved the Power Plan VIII, setting the target of striving for 50% of office buildings and 50% of houses to use self-generated and self-consumed rooftop solar power by 2030.
Currently, Ha Tinh has attracted investment in two grid-connected solar power projects: Cam Hoa Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 50MWp; Cam Hung Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 29MWp. In addition, in the localities, there are more than 500 organizations and individuals installing rooftop solar power with a total capacity of more than 150MWp, contributing to the grid output of more than 200 million kWh of electricity per year.
In addition to supplementing local electricity supply and contributing to saving electricity costs for people and businesses, solar power is also very important in preventing overload during peak times, contributing to ensuring national energy security.

Mr. Phan Van Anh - Head of Business Department (Ha Tinh Electricity Company) said: “Solar energy is a renewable, clean energy source and can reduce dependence on traditional electricity. While the demand for electricity of people and businesses is increasing, the development of solar power is an investment option, using it economically and effectively; playing an important role in ensuring energy security, contributing to socio -economic development. In the past time, Ha Tinh Electricity Company has always accompanied people and businesses in the process of converting to renewable energy; consulting and supporting the connection of rooftop solar power systems to the grid, ensuring safety and compliance with technical standards”.
With its coastal location and abundant sunlight resources, Ha Tinh has great potential and advantages for developing renewable energy sources in general and developing solar power in particular. Along with that, the guaranteed energy infrastructure, the strongly developed industrial zones and clusters with large electricity consumption, etc. are favorable conditions for the development of self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power.
According to the planning and implementation plan of Power Plan VIII, Ha Tinh continues to be planned for an additional 400MW of rooftop solar power and 1,800MW of concentrated solar power.
Mr. Duong Thanh Hoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: "Through monitoring, solar power projects have been operating quite effectively, especially for manufacturing enterprises and public offices. To achieve the goal that by 2030, 50% of public buildings and 50% of houses will use self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power according to the Power Plan VIII, in the coming time, the Department will advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council to issue a policy to support the installation of self-produced and self-consumed solar power to encourage investment from people and businesses. At the same time, help Ha Tinh shift energy towards green - clean - efficient".
According to the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade, during the investment process, organizations and individuals need to comply with regulations related to planning, construction, land, environmental protection, safety, fire prevention and fighting; including registering for a certificate of registration for the development of self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power according to the law.
