
Camille Laurens, born in 1957, is one of France's most prominent contemporary novelists. Her works have been translated into more than 30 languages and consistently focus on the relationship between literature and truth, particularly through the genre of "autofiction."
Camille Laurens has received numerous prestigious awards such as Famina, Renaudot des lycéens, Roman-News, and Grand prix RTL-Lire.
Alongside her writing career, she has been deeply involved in French literary life, serving as a member of the Femina Prize Jury (2007-2019) and a member of the Goncourt Academy since February 11, 2020.

Vietnamese readers know Camille Laurens through her works In the Arms (2009), Emotional Love Song (2011), Daughter (2023), and most recently, Betrayal .
In particular, to celebrate the launch of her novel *Betrayal* , from October 18th to 25th, author Camille Laurens visited Vietnam to meet and chat with readers in Hanoi , Hue, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the program, writer Bich Ngan, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, stated that due to historical factors, French literature reached Vietnamese readers very early on. Many generations of writers and literature lovers in Vietnam have embraced it with enthusiasm. In particular, many works have had a significant impact on generations of Vietnamese writers.

According to Camille Laurens, becoming a writer and doing what she loves with her own freedom is a truly meaningful journey.
From a young girl, she had to overcome many barriers and societal prejudices to pursue her childhood dream: the freedom to create.

“It’s the result of encounters in my life, the first of which was with books. It was books that helped me broaden my perspective and develop a sense of freedom. In addition, encounters with important people who have strong voices on feminism were also factors that led me to pick up a pen and write extensively about women,” shared author Camille Laurens.
