Traveling at 4-5am was a challenge, but also an unforgettable experience. Along the way, the curves appeared and disappeared in the thick fog, creating the feeling of being lost in a fairyland. The higher we went, the colder the air became, but everyone was eagerly waiting for the magical moment to come.

Local young people go to the mountain to "hunt clouds" early in the morning.
At an altitude of more than 1,000m above sea level, Don Den peak opens up a stunningly majestic natural landscape. Not only is it deep green mountains and forests, but it is also a white, floating "sea of clouds" stretching far and wide, dyed in the brilliant orange-pink of the dawn.

When the first rays of dawn appear, the entire "sea of clouds" seems to be dyed a shimmering pink-orange coat.

Don Den Peak is located at an altitude of more than 1,000m above sea level.
According to experienced people, the golden time to admire this scene is in autumn and spring. Most importantly, you have to be there very early, because the clouds will clear around 8am. Therefore, young locals often have to leave at dawn to "capture" the moment of sunrise.

Ms. Bich Thuy, a tourist from Hanoi who arrived early in the morning to "hunt clouds" at the top of Don Den, shared: I have "hunted clouds" in many places such as Ta Xua (Son La), or Ha Giang, but coming to Don Den, I have a very different feeling. It is a truly poetic scene of sky and clouds.
The most famous "cloud hunting" spot is located along Provincial Road 257B passing through Don Den village, especially the area around the milestones from km44 to km39 (QL.3B, DT 257B). The 45km milestone has become a symbol, an indispensable background for commemorative photos.

Sharing about her unique "cloud hunting" experience, Nguyet Anh - who traveled a long distance from the center of Thai Nguyen with her group of friends - said: "To watch the sunrise, we had to wake up and leave at 3am. Don Den Peak is truly a wonder. The scenery makes everyone exclaim in amazement, feeling small in the midst of vast nature. This trip brought us the most wonderful photos and memories."

Not only for cloud watching, Don Den is also a place for groups of friends to pose together to keep beautiful memories.

Visitors should arrive 4-6 hours early to have a chance to watch the sunrise.
A special feature that creates the attraction of Don Den is the simplicity and sincerity in tourism services. This area currently has no resorts or professional services. Instead, some local people and young people have spontaneously cleaned up, creating simple areas along the road for tourists to stop.

Sitting drinking coffee and watching the sunrise on top of Don Den brings a very special feeling.
Here, you will encounter unique "self-service cafe" areas. Visitors often prepare their own personal picnic items (such as folding tables and chairs, teapots, hot coffee, snacks...) to enjoy the warm taste while watching the clouds and sky in a peaceful, fresh space. The sparkling string lights and simple folding chairs create a very romantic "chill out" atmosphere in the middle of the mountains and forests.
Don Den, located near the famous Ba Be Lake, is still a new destination with a lot of potential "sleeping" on the Thai Nguyen tourism map. With its majestic beauty and preserved cultural identity, Don Den will certainly be "awakened" and become a new highlight, bringing different and unforgettable experiences to visitors.
