EAC and IOM strengthen cross-border health security

The East African Community (EAC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have reached a cooperation agreement to strengthen cross-border health security and respond to disease outbreaks in the region.

According to the EAC, the partnership will play a key role in addressing the negative impact of health security issues and disease outbreaks in border areas. The EAC is committed to effective risk management and information sharing strategies, as well as strong community engagement to manage and mitigate risks associated with public health emergencies and other health crises.
