Happy family: a solid foundation for a prosperous nation

This year’s Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) continues to be celebrated with the theme “Happy Family, Prosperous Nation”. This theme is not only a message about the traditional and sacred meaning of the home, but also reflects a profound message about the role of the family in contributing to the stability and sustainable development of the country.

The family is the basic unit of society. A harmonious, loving, and responsible family forms the foundation for building a civilized, stable, and prosperous community. When the family foundation is strong, children are nurtured in a healthy environment, and adults have a spiritual anchor to work, study, and contribute with peace of mind. A society with many happy families will be a society with fewer social ills, less violence, and less instability – factors that hinder national development.

Currently, the country is undergoing a restructuring of its administrative apparatus towards a more streamlined and efficient system, while simultaneously implementing a two-tiered local government model: province and commune. Changes in organizational structure, personnel, and management methods will significantly impact the lives of individuals and families. Shifts in workplaces, changes in job roles, adjustments to regulations and policies, etc., are all factors that can easily disrupt the psychology and family life. In this context, a strong family, one that knows how to love, share, and overcome challenges together, will be a crucial support system for each member to adapt, develop, and continue to contribute to society.

Building a happy family in today's era is not only about preserving traditional values ​​such as family affection and filial piety, but also about expanding to modern values ​​such as gender equality, life skills education , mental health care, and civilized behavior in the digital environment. The holistic development of each family will be a key factor in creating a high-quality workforce – one of the important levers for the country to break through in the period of integration and digital transformation.

Vietnamese Family Day is an occasion for each person to reflect on their role in the shared family, an opportunity for the community to spread messages of love, responsibility, and companionship. Above all, it is a time for us to affirm that a nation that wants to prosper must begin with happy, peaceful families filled with human values.
