Happy families: a solid foundation for a prosperous nation

This year’s Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) continues to be celebrated with the theme “Happy Family, Prosperous Nation”. This theme is not only a message about the traditional and sacred meaning of the family, but also reflects a profound message about the role of the family in contributing to the stability and sustainable development of the country.

The family is the cell of society. Each harmonious, loving, and responsible family is the foundation for building a civilized, stable, and developing community. When the family foundation is solid, children are raised in a healthy environment, and adults have a spiritual support to work, study, and contribute with peace of mind. A society with many happy families will be a society with less social evils, less violence, and less instability - factors that hinder national development.

At present, the country is restructuring the administrative apparatus towards streamlining and efficiency, while implementing a two-level local government model: province and commune. Shifting workplaces, changing job roles, adjusting regimes and policies, etc., are factors that can easily disrupt psychology and family life.
