Rice price today December 8: Export rice OM 5451 reversed to increase

Rice prices today, December 8, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated little.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province and Vietnamese Rice, currently OM 5451 raw rice for export has increased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating at 8,200 - 8,300 VND/kg; Soc Det raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,300 - 7,450 VND; IR 504 raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,550 - 7,650 VND/kg; CL 555 raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,340 - 7,450 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates at 8,700 - 8,900 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg; Export raw rice OM 18 fluctuates at 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; finished rice IR 504 fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg compared to the weekend.

Regarding by-products, the price of by-products fluctuates from 7,400 - 10,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice fluctuates at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg; bran price fluctuates at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg compared to the weekend.

Recorded in localities today, buying and selling transactions are quiet, prices of rice of all kinds fluctuate little. In Can Tho, warehouses still ask to buy fragrant and sticky rice, prices are stable. In An Giang , most large warehouses buy slowly, choose rice with OM 5451, OM 18, prices of rice of all kinds fluctuate little.

In Lap Vo, Sa Dec ( Dong Thap ), all kinds of rice are stable. In An Cu - Dong Thap, there are few purchases and rice prices are relatively stable.

At retail markets, rice prices of all kinds are the same as at the weekend. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND11,000 - 12,000/kg; Huong Lai rice at VND22,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice at VND21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice at VND20,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice at VND16,000/kg; Soc regular rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 17,000/kg; Soc Thai rice at VND20,000/kg; Japanese rice at VND22,000/kg.

Similar to rice, according to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,100 - 5,300 VND/kg; the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg; the price of OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg; the price of fresh OM 5451 rice fluctuates around 5,400 - 5,600 VND/kg, compared to the weekend.

In many localities today, sources are low and prices are stable. In An Giang, traders buy slowly, pay low prices, and new transactions are weak. In Dong Thap, new transactions are steady, and prices fluctuate little.

In Ca Mau, new buyers are few and prices are stable. In Can Tho, Vinh Long, and Tay Ninh, the rice harvest is still small, demand is slow, and prices fluctuate little.

According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 5% broken fragrant rice ranges from 420 - 440 USD/ton; 100% broken rice ranges from 314 - 318 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice ranges from 447 - 451 USD/ton.
