Bringing agricultural products to market through the San Viet e-commerce platform not only helps farmers proactively solve the problem of market access but also opens up a new and effective direction.
Moc Chau is not the only place in the country that produces cassava vermicelli; however, with the secret recipe and dedication of the artisans, it has created the brand "vermicelli for every household" - Kien Son cassava vermicelli. Especially, thanks to the power of e-commerce platforms, Kien Son cassava vermicelli has transcended the Moc Chau agricultural town, conquering the national market and becoming a typical rural industrial product.
Products sell quickly thanks to Vietnam Marketplace.
As the Lunar New Year approaches, the vermicelli market is more vibrant than ever. This year, Kien Son vermicelli has seen a remarkable increase in the number of orders compared to the same period last year, with production even struggling to meet market demand. Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong, Director of Kien Son Co., Ltd., said that sales have doubled thanks to doing business on digital platforms.
This demonstrates the strong appeal of Kien Son vermicelli as well as the clear effectiveness of bringing the product to e-commerce platforms. According to Mr. Cuong, since 2021, the company has started introducing its products on the Viet e-commerce platform with the support of the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province.
"In the beginning, no one could have imagined that vermicelli noodles would sell so quickly and reach such a large number of consumers in such distant locations," Mr. Cuong shared.

The collaboration with Son La E-commerce Platform (www.sonla.sanviet.vn), integrated into the unified e-commerce platform (Sanviet.vn) built and managed by the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade, has helped Kien Son cassava vermicelli transcend the limitations of traditional markets and access a wider market nationwide. Sanviet not only supports product promotion but also accompanies businesses in packaging and transportation, helping them reduce burdens and focus on production.
" The packaging and shipping of goods are supported by San Viet at the production facility. San Viet's staff directly assist with proper packaging and retrieve products for shipping. We only have to focus on production," Mr. Cuong added.
Furthermore, Kien Son meticulously monitors its production process to ensure that its products consistently meet the standards of cleanliness and safety for consumers. As a result, Kien Son vermicelli has earned the trust and high regard of consumers, along with recognition from relevant authorities, marking the company's success.
In 2019, the company's product was certified by the Intellectual Property Office as a "Kien Son Vermicelli" brand, recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a typical rural industrial product, and marketed to many places inside and outside the province. Notably, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Development Consulting continued to support brand promotion, showcasing Kien Son vermicelli at provincial trade fairs and trade promotion programs, connecting the company with customers. By 2020, the company had achieved the status of a typical rural industrial product at the regional level and an OCOP product. In 2021, Kien Son vermicelli achieved national ISO 22000:2018 certification.
Notably, previously, limited business connectivity resulted in low product sales and employee incomes of only 3-3.5 million VND per person per month. However, the business landscape has changed significantly since the company launched its cassava vermicelli product on e-commerce platforms.
" Not only has the volume of goods increased significantly, but the company's employees themselves are paying more attention to other issues they had never considered before, such as implementing traceability labels, cashless payments, and online marketing... " - Mr. Cuong said.
According to a representative from the e-commerce platform San Viet, the biggest challenge for farmers is selling their produce through traditional methods, making it difficult to access information technology and reach new customers. Therefore, San Viet has been, is, and will continue to assist farmers, businesses, and cooperatives with OCOP products in Son La province, especially in the city, to access new business models on e-commerce platforms.
Continue to bring more of our key agricultural products to e-commerce platforms.
Son La province is making significant strides in socio-economic development, particularly through the development of agricultural product brands. In recent years, the province has launched many agricultural product brands, most notably Kim Son cassava vermicelli. This product not only brings economic benefits and contributes to poverty reduction but also helps increase income and create stable lives for local people. In addition, Son La is also promoting the development of businesses and cooperatives, with an impressive number of over 3,250 businesses and 806 cooperatives currently operating in the province.
It is noteworthy that these businesses and cooperatives have begun to apply information technology and e-commerce to their production and business activities to varying degrees. This is a positive sign showing that Son La is gradually modernizing its economy and moving towards sustainable development.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Bac, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province, in recent years, the methods of introducing and promoting agricultural products of Son La province have been very diverse and implemented through many effective forms, most notably the coordination to bring the province's agricultural products to the unified e-commerce platform Sanviet.vn.
San Viet is not just an ordinary e-commerce platform, but also a connected ecosystem that facilitates both sellers and buyers. Instead of having to navigate multiple local e-commerce platforms, consumers can now experience a "one-touch, countless joys" feeling with a single point at sanviet.vn, allowing them to freely shop for products with guaranteed origins, at competitive prices, and access numerous promotions directly from manufacturers. The convenience and reliability that San Viet offers are key to attracting users and driving the development of e-commerce in Vietnam.
“ Supporting farmers in listing and selling their agricultural products through the Sàn Việt e-commerce platform not only helps farmers proactively solve the problem of product output but also opens up a new, more effective and sustainable direction for the future. In the future, the Department will continue to work with brands to support connections with major e-commerce platforms not only domestically but also internationally ,” Mr. Bắc said.
