At 7:00 AM on June 25th, WTI crude oil was priced at $65.06 per barrel, down $0.50 per barrel, while US Brent crude oil was at $67.88 per barrel, down $0.63 per barrel.
Global financial markets experienced a volatile day of trading as news of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran was announced. Crude oil prices plummeted while stock markets around the world rose across the globe.
The energy market witnessed the most significant volatility as Brent crude oil futures plummeted by 5.6%, falling below the levels of June 12th – the day before Israel began its attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
This move comes after President Trump announced that the ceasefire agreement had taken effect. Shortly afterward, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also confirmed that a ceasefire agreement had been reached with Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also stated that his country would cease fire on the condition that Israel do the same.
Regarding oil supply, Kazakhstan's national oil company KazMunayGaz has raised its production forecast for the Tengiz field to 35.7 million tonnes in 2025, up from a previous forecast of 34.8 million tonnes. Kazakhstan is a member of OPEC+, and several other countries in the group are also increasing production.
In Guyana, oil production in May reached 667,000 barrels per day, up from 611,000 barrels per day in April, thanks to increased output at two of the three facilities operated by the American corporation Exxon Mobil.
Domestic fuel prices
In the price adjustment on June 19th, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 1,169 VND/liter to 20,631 VND/liter. The price of RON95 gasoline increased by 1,277 VND/liter, not exceeding 21,244 VND/liter.
Prices of all types of oil also increased simultaneously. Specifically: Diesel fuel prices increased by 1,456 VND/liter, to 19,156 VND/liter. Kerosene prices increased by 1,412 VND/liter, not exceeding 18,923 VND/liter, and mazut prices increased by 1,182 VND/kg, to 17,643 VND/kg.
During this period, the regulatory agency continued to neither allocate funds nor utilize the fuel price stabilization fund for all commodities.
Since the beginning of 2025, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 24 adjustments, including 9 decreases, 10 increases, and 5 changes.
