Teachers in Khanh Hoa province are delighted to receive year-end bonuses in accordance with Decree No. 73/2024/ND-CP, which stipulates the basic salary and bonus regime for officials, civil servants, public employees, and members of the armed forces.
With only a few days left until the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025, many teachers share the same sentiment: the arrival of Tet brings more worries. This expresses the feelings of teachers who live solely on their salaries, fearing they won't have enough money to cover expenses during the three days of Tet.
In previous years, some schools, if they had any surplus funds at the end of the year, would distribute a small amount to teachers as a "Tet bonus" (savings from expenses). Because it was distributed at the end of the year, teachers became accustomed to calling it a "Tet bonus." However, some schools did not have year-end savings, as it depended on whether the schools had surplus funds in their spending plans, and there was no legal document mandating the distribution of these savings. Therefore, teachers were very anxious at the end of the year, eagerly awaiting the year-end savings to have extra money for the three days of Tet.
In Khanh Hoa province, teachers received Tet bonuses this year in accordance with Decree 73/2024/ND-CP.
According to Decree No. 73/2024/ND-CP regulating the basic salary and bonus regime for officials, civil servants, public employees, and the armed forces, from July 1, 2024, officials, civil servants, and public employees will have their basic salary increased to VND 2,340,000/month, and will also receive an additional bonus fund of 10% of the total salary fund (excluding allowances).
Many teachers believe that if this regulation is implemented correctly, this year, in addition to regular and unexpected bonuses, teachers will receive an extra year-end bonus. The Tet (Lunar New Year) bonus for teachers at the school is paid based on performance, with titles such as: Advanced Worker, Outstanding Worker at the grassroots level, Outstanding Worker at the ministerial level, and Outstanding Worker at the national level. This regulation ensures fairness, encourages continuous effort, and recognizes the contributions of teachers, creating motivation for them to continue to demonstrate responsibility and creativity in their educational careers.
Therefore, starting from the 2024-2025 school year, all schools must implement the Tet bonus plan for teachers according to Decree No. 73/2024/ND-CP. Currently, many schools in some localities are implementing the plan to give Tet bonuses to teachers according to Decree No. 73/2024/ND-CP, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hue City, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, from Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School (Dien Khanh, Khanh Hoa), shared: "This year, in addition to the 6 million VND saved from school expenses, I also received 6.8 million VND (for outstanding performance) in accordance with Decree 73/2024/ND-CP."
It is reported that the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Finance has approved the disbursement of 119 billion VND for bonuses in accordance with Decree No. 73/2024/ND-CP. This has greatly encouraged state officials and employees, especially teachers, giving them more motivation to improve the quality of teaching and excellently fulfill their duties.
