Maintain the target of inaugurating Long Thanh airport phase 1 on December 19, 2025

On September 11, the Government Office issued a document announcing Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha's Conclusion on the progress of the Long Thanh International Airport Project Phase 1 and connecting infrastructure projects.

We are determined to maintain the goal of inaugurating Phase 1 of Long Thanh International Airport on December 19, 2025.

The announcement clearly states: the target of completing and meeting the standards and conditions for the project's inauguration on December 19, 2025, as directed by the Prime Minister , remains unchanged. In the event that this deadline cannot be met, the managing agency and the project investor will be held fully responsible and must promptly report to the Prime Minister.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to complete and hand over the entire land area at the National Highway 51 intersection of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project in September so that the Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corporation (VEC) can implement and complete the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project according to the committed schedule, aiming to soon connect synchronously with the Long Thanh International Airport project and maximize the investment efficiency of the project.

Regarding connecting infrastructure projects, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province, the Ministry of Construction , and the relevant agencies and investors to continue focusing on inspecting, urging, and directing the acceleration of the implementation of connecting transportation routes, fuel pipeline systems, fiber optic cables, and other connecting works to ensure synchronous completion according to the committed schedule; noting that for fuel pipeline systems, long-term planning is necessary, including research on storage and supply options for clean fuel in accordance with international regulations.

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province have directed relevant departments and agencies to review and study a scientific and reasonable traffic flow plan to ensure the safety and smooth movement of private vehicles, vehicles transporting construction materials and goods (especially container trucks), and passengers, minimizing traffic congestion and accidents throughout the construction and operation of Long Thanh International Airport.

On the same day, the Government Office issued a document announcing the conclusions of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha regarding a number of key projects and works in Ninh Binh province.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee to proactively coordinate with the Ministry of Construction on the development of a plan for the establishment of Ninh Binh International Airport during the research and adjustment of the overall plan for the development of the national airport system for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; based on this, the Ministry of Construction will compile and report to the Prime Minister as prescribed.
