The admission method is based on the admission route prescribed by the People's Committee of the district, town or city.

However, some opinions are concerned that enrolling students according to the plan before the administrative unit arrangement may encounter some shortcomings. Therefore, it is proposed that the city consider and adjust the time for enrolling preschool, grade 1 and grade 6 students earlier than the announced plan, possibly in June.
At the recent meeting of the City-level Steering Committee for Examinations and Admissions for the 2025-2026 school year, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha affirmed that the goal set in organizing examinations and admissions in the city in 2025 is to ensure progress and quality, without causing disruption or affecting students.
Therefore, according to Ms. Ha, although the administrative unit has changed, Hanoi still maintains the plan and time for organizing preschool, grade 1 and grade 6 enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year as previously approved and announced.
"In any situation, Hanoi City will ensure the best conditions and rights for students," Ms. Ha emphasized.
The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee also directed districts, towns and cities to proactively review locations planned to be used as exam venues; carefully prepare conditions for organizing exams and enrollment; promptly deploy assigned tasks to ensure progress and quality.
From now until July 1, members of the steering committee need to stick to their tasks, promptly grasp arising issues, and at the same time forecast the situation well to promptly handle situations.
The city police are responsible for developing a comprehensive plan to ensure security and order for exams and admissions throughout the city, including coordinating forces and organizing training.
Hanoi continues to apply online enrollment. The enrollment period is from July 1, including enrollment for grade 1 from July 1 to July 3, enrollment for 5-year-old preschool children from July 4 to July 6, and enrollment for grade 6 from July 7 to July 9.
Direct enrollment period from July 13 to July 18.
