On May 31st, the prestigious airline rating organization AirlineRatings.com announced the awards for the world's best airlines in 2023.
The awards are divided into several categories, including two main categories: Best Airline and Best Low-Cost Airline. Both categories feature representatives from Vietnamese airlines.
Accordingly, the list of 25 airlines that won the World's Best Airline award in 2023 is as follows: Air New Zealand, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Virgin Australia/Virgin Atlantic, EVA Air, Cathay Pacific Airways, Emirates, Lufthansa/Swiss, SAS, TAP Portugal, All Nippon Airways, Delta Air Lines, Air Canada, British Airways, Jet Blue, JAL, Vietnam Airlines , Turkish Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, KLM, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines.

To be included in the list of the top 25 airlines, they must achieve a 7-star safety rating and demonstrate leadership in innovation to provide passenger comfort.
Geoffrey Thomas, editor-in-chief of AirlineRatings.com, said, "The ratings focus on airlines' innovations that make a real difference to the passenger experience."
Air New Zealand was ranked number 1 thanks to its cabin innovation with sleeping berths for economy class passengers on the new Boeing 787s, passenger service, and rapid recovery from the pandemic.
AirlineRatings.com also honored the Top 25 Low-Cost Airlines in the World for 2023 as part of its annual Airline Excellence Awards.
The airlines that won the award, in alphabetical order, are AirAsia, Allegiant, Bonza, Cebu Pacific, EasyJet, Eurowings, Flair, FlyDubai, Frontier, GOL, Indigo, Jet2, JetBlue, Jetstar, Norse Atlantic, Peach, Ryanair, Scoot, Spirit, Southwest, Transavia, TUI, Vietjet , Vueling, and Wizz Air.

All selected airlines have a good safety and incident handling record or have completed the International Air Transport Association (IOSA) operational safety audit.

This organization's system ranks airlines from 1 to 7 stars based on safety levels. The rating system takes into account a number of different factors related to audits from aviation regulatory bodies, leading associations, and airlines that possess safety data.
