On September 11th, the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor (HCMCFL) collaborated with the HCMC Youth Union to summarize their joint work for the 2021-2025 period and sign a joint program for the 2026-2030 period.
During the period 2021-2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union effectively carried out many important tasks together. Especially in political and ideological education through political activities, competitions, and trips to historical sites, these efforts attracted hundreds of thousands of young workers, civil servants, and laborers.
Along with that, patriotic emulation movements and the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" movement have created an environment for young workers to improve their skills, professional qualifications, and foreign language proficiency, and to play a pioneering role in production and integration.
From the practical experience of the movement, more than 75,000 workers have been promoted to higher skill levels and received higher salaries; hundreds of outstanding young workers, engineers, trade union presidents, and youth leaders have been honored with prestigious awards such as: the Nguyen Van Troi Award; the Ton Duc Thang Award; the July 28 Award; and the Outstanding Young Worker Leader Award…

Furthermore, efforts to support and assist young workers continue to expand and extend to self-employed workers, trade unions, and those living in rented accommodations, with an estimated total value of over 2.343 billion VND. In particular, the City Federation of Labor Unions pays special attention to union members in the motorbike taxi, repair, loading and unloading, and cleaning sectors, as well as preschool teachers and nannies in non-public institutions who are facing difficult circumstances.
According to Phan Hong An, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the collaborative model between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the City Youth Union over the past five years has achieved high effectiveness, contributing to building strong political organizations at the grassroots level and providing practical support to young people and workers.

Looking ahead, Mr. Phan Hong An hopes that the two units will continue to develop practical support models and solutions for workers, such as: encouraging the maintenance or reduction of rental prices, supporting vocational training, providing means of livelihood, organizing price-stabilized stalls, and cultural and sports activities after work hours... He particularly emphasizes activities that benefit young people and workers.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union signed a joint program for the period 2026-2030, with several key contents such as: Continuing to promote political and legal education , industrial work ethics, and building strong political fortitude for young workers in the context of Ho Chi Minh City implementing a two-tiered urban government. Organizing widespread patriotic emulation movements, especially the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" movement, combined with competitions to improve skills and expertise, thereby creating an environment for young workers to develop their intellect and aspirations to contribute.
In addition, it is necessary to strengthen efforts to care for the material and spiritual lives, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of young workers and their children.

At the conference, the City Federation of Labor and the City Youth Union awarded 65 collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements in coordinating and implementing activities at the grassroots level.
