Vietnam - Korea exchange concert "Koviet Sinawi"

On the evening of October 10, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, the Koviet Sinawi concert took place, attracting a large number of students to enjoy and learn about traditional Korean culture and music.

Sinawi is a representative traditional Korean music genre, based on the spirit of improvisation and sacred prayer rituals. The concert was built and performed in that spirit, with the content praising peace and harmony between the two countries.

A large number of young audiences enjoyed interesting folk music performances: Trong Com, Qua Cau Gio Bay, Sanarae, Korean film music, folk medley Gang Gang Sullae - Tu Quy - Ly Chim Quy - Jindo Arirang...

In particular, the Koviet Sinawi symphony with 3 movements: The Prayer, Southern Harmony and One Ware, created by artists from the two countries using traditional Vietnamese and Korean folk music , has left an impression on the audience.

The Koviet Sinawi Art Program, part of the “Korea-ASEAN Community Innovation Project”, is led by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea and the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE). The project aims to explore the similarities and differences in the traditional music of the two countries, and harmoniously combine them to create a unique symphony between Korea and Vietnam.

The project will be launched for the first time in 2024. In 2025, the project will hold two concerts, performing at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (October 10) and at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Hanoi (October 15).
