This is the largest annual international science and engineering competition for high school students (grades 9 to 12). Each year, about 1,800 high school students from about 80 countries and territories around the world participate in presenting research results in 22 fields of the competition.
To participate in ISEF, contestants must be selected from local or national science fairs, comply with ISEF's basic regulations and are called ISEF member fairs. ISEF connects and facilitates young scientists to compete in international arenas; creates conditions for students to submit their research topics to high-level scientists for evaluation.
The National Science and Technology Competition for High School Students in Vietnam officially registered as a member of ISEF in 2012. Every year, Vietnam is one of more than 50% of countries with awards at this competition. In 2023, 7 projects participating in the International ISEF were selected from 143 projects participating in the National Science and Technology Competition for High School Students.
